Rick Grimes Decays Into A Horrifying Zombie In Mind-Blowing Motion Art

Rick Grimes decays into a horrifying zombie in a mind-blowing piece of The Walking Dead motion art, showing as he quickly transforms into an unrecognizable Walker. Out of all the characters on the zombie TV series, Rick has managed to survive some of the wildest events, from a bridge blowing up in season 9 to a near-miss grenade in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live's ending. However, the one issue he's never had trouble with is zombies, always managing to avoid getting bitten by the undead, lest he become one of them.

Now, Immagina Ai Dream has created motion art of Rick in The Walking Dead, showing his decay into a horrifying zombie.

The art shows Rick's cheeks and eyes slowly sinking in as his skin takes on a greenish hue. His hair and beard also become gray, thinning out as the skin begins to peel away from different parts of his face. By the end of the video, he's gaunt and heavily decayed, making him look completely unrecognizable to the person he was before.

Will Rick Ever Become A Zombie In The Walking Dead TV Universe?

Nobody On The Show Is Ever Safe

Rick managed to avoid death multiple times throughout The Walking Dead TV universe, eventually reuniting with his family in the last scene of The Ones Who Live. However, his comic counterpart met a very different fate, murdered in his sleep by Sebastian Milton and transforming into a zombie. He's later put down by Carl, who is alive at this point of the series, before he can decay like so many of the other Walkers featured throughout the story. This sets a precedent for Rick potentially becoming a zombie in the future.

However, as tragic as losing Rick to the zombie virus would be, his latest spinoff with Michonne put a definitive end to his storyline, giving him a happy ending with his family. While it would be interesting to see him again, possibly in The Ones Who Live season 2 or a new spinoff, killing him off would negate the positive ending already established for him. This would make his journey across the franchise much more disappointing, while also potentially interfering with his anticipated reunions with Daryl, Carol, and Maggie.

The motion art of Rick's decay into a zombie shows how the undead are able to look like monsters after such a long amount of time. However, the main character's importance as a central figure in The Walking Dead means it would be disappointing for him to actually become a zombie in the show. However, it's still an interesting concept, perhaps even something future shows can explore surrounding how a person slowly decays into a more monstrous zombie.
