Saints newcomer has two NFL fan bases fuming after great performance vs. Cowboys

The New Orleans Saints offensive line has been a marvel to kick off the 2024 NFL regular season. They are arguably the biggest reason that the Saints are 2-0 with two blowout victories to start their season.

Have Alvin Kamara and Derek Carr dominated so far? Absolutely. What do they have in common? Their blockers are both making life much easier on them so far early in the season.

Accordingly, a couple of their NFC foes are face palming because they let a key player escape their grasps.

Packers and Bears fans are upset at Lucas Patrick's success

Patrick spent several seasons as a rotational interior offense line piece with both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. He won the starting job in New Orleans during training camp and has not looked back.

Patrick spent the first five seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers. He spent 2022 and 2023 with the Chicago Bears. He battled some injuries during his time in Chicago, too.

Those NFC North teams are now looking at his stats from 2024 in awe, probably.

Patrick was the highest-graded Saints player in Week 2, according to Pro Football Focus. He received a 97.2 overall grade.

With Chicago in 2023, he recorded a 50.5 overall grade via PFF. He looks like a completely different player, and some Bears fans are calling for their offensive line coach's job partly because of him.

Patrick is the second-highest graded offensive lineman in football via PFF. Who is the top dog in that fight? Saints center Erik McCoy.

The interior is a clear strength for New Orleans in 2024. Both of them grabbed a spot on the Pro Football Focus team of the week.

Both McCoy and Patrick have been elite so far this season in two blowout wins for the Saints.

Derek Carr is not getting pressured, and Alvin Kamara is getting running room early and often when the ball is snapped. New Orleans hopes that continues, undoubtedly.

We will see if this is a trend or not for Patrick. It certainly looks like he's turned a corner in his NFL career in Klint Kubiak's offensive scheme. His former teams are probably shaking their heads right now.
