The newest members of the New Orleans Saints have been issued their numbers before the team reports to training camp on July 23 later this month.
Three UFL players recently signed by the Saints have been issued their initial numbers as they embark on a roster battle in just a few weeks.
• Jayden Price, CB - 28
• Seth Green, TE - 42
• Barry Wesley, OL - 69
Price, 25, wore number 23 for the UFL Arlington Renegades and in college with the North Dakota State Bison. Defensive backs Tre Herndon and Rezjohn Wright had previously wore 28 for New Orleans.
The 6-foot and 183-Lb. Price led the UFL with 13 passes broken up with the Renegades this spring. He had 3 interceptions and broke up 17 passes over his collegiate career at North Dakota State.
Green was a teammate of Price's with the Arlington Renegades. He was also in training camp with both the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys before signing with the UFL. Green played collegiately for the Houston Cougars and Minnesota Golden Gophers.
With both the Texans and Renegades, Green wore number 87. Number 42 was last worn for New Orleans by linebacker Ty Summers in 2023.
Wesley also wore 69 with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL, for a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons, and in college with the Colorado State Rams. The number 69 was last worn for the Saints, in one game, by offensive lineman Chris Reed last season.
Newly signed veteran running back Cam Akers will also have a new number for training camp. Akers wore 38 for his minicamp tryout with the Saints. After signing with New Orleans, Akers switched his jersey to number 26.
