The New Orleans Saints' injury reports over the past couple of weeks have mimicked receipts. Plenty of young players and veterans have been involved, particular in the "did not practice" section of statuses.
On Wednesday, the Saints and Los Angeles Chargers unveiled their first injury reports of the week, ahead of their afternoon game on Sunday. There were some positive updates for New Orleans on both sides of the football.
Saints-Chargers Wednesday injury report
Derek Carr and Nick Saldiveri were the only two players to not practice for the Saints on Hump Day.
Now, there were ten players considered as limited as well. That's growth for New Orleans, though. Check out which players were limited on Wednesday below.
- Taysom Hill
- Cesar Ruiz
- Lucas Patrick
- Pete Werner
- Connor Mcgovern
- Chris Olave
- Khalen Saunders
- Alvin Kamara
- Cedrick Wilson Jr.
- Juwan Johnson
Olave will need to clear the concussion protocol by the end of the week, but his limited return is notable. He did not practice last week.
Earlier this week, Dennis Allen said that he expects Taysom Hill to return this week against Los Angeles. That would be an important return for the team's offense. Alvin Kamara has been playing with a broken hand since the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
There's optimism that Pete Werner and Cesar Ruiz both return this weekend as well. They have missed multiple games, and both units have noticed.
Ruiz is a key blocker inside for the running game, and Werner is arguably the best run stopping linebacker for New Orleans. They will need both against a Chargers team that has ran hard this season.
As for the Chargers, their list of injuries was extensive on Wednesday, too. Six players, including three starters, did not practice. Five others were limited.
