Schefter Offers 'Inside Info' On Cowboys and Micah Parsons

FRISCO - Amid all of the ups and downs - and in part because of them - Dallas Cowboys fans are on pins and needles waiting for good news on Micah Parsons' contract negotiations with owner Jerry Jones.

Schefter Offers 'Inside Info' On Cowboys and Micah Parsons

And there has been some good news.

CowboysCountry.com was first to report, way back on March 23, that the two parties (but not Micah's agent, David Mulugheta) had met three times.

We also brought you the news about Micah's idea of signing a five-year deal ... and about it being in the range of $40 million annually ...

Which is where the much-ballyhooed ensuing reports of a "$200 million contract'' came from.

We've also made it clear to Cowboys Nation that while the Joneses have certainly considered every option here - yes, inside The Star, Jerry and Stephen have explored and then dismissed the what-if's of a trade - all involved want to settle this thing with an eventually Micah-related 3-word headline.

"Cowboy for Life.''

The bad news? Jerry keeps pretending the timetable here is of no importance.

Progress, he said, "doesn't mean that necessarily we'll have anything done by training camp or at any time in the future because he's under contract for the next year. But the point is we have had very good discussions and we've had real good meeting of the minds.”

And what about the "news'' that's neither good nor bad because it's not news at all?

Enter ESPN "insider'' Adam Schefter, who in an attempt to offer an insightful update simply chased around his own tail.

“I would say that, eventually, both sides will figure out that deal and get it done,” Schefter said via Shan & RJ on Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan.

This is no fault of the radio station; they simply asked Schefter a question.

But the answer ... answers nothing.

We can have some fun with Parsons' podcast and his personality, and we can get more serious when it comes to his production and his paycheck.

But if you are waiting on pins and needles to find out that it's likely that "both sides will eventually get a deal done''?

Well, you already knew that.
