Shohei Ohtani was removed from the Dodgers’ game against the San Diego Padres in the ninth inning, being pinch-hit for. This move was seen as more precautionary and manager Dave Roberts confirmed this after the game was over. His back seemed to tighten up and Los Angeles determined it was better for him to exit the game.
With the concern being minimal, the Dodgers may have avoided a disaster. He likely won’t be in the lineup for the series finale against the Padres but this is as good of news as Los Angeles could hope for.
The hope is that Ohtani won’t be out for too long and can return to the lineup sooner rather than later.
