Star Wars Has Confirmed Pedro Pascal Will Star In The Mandalorian & Grogu, Ending One Of The Strangest Fan Debates

Star Wars has at long last put an end to fan speculation surrounding Pedro Pascal's return as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian & Grogu, confirming that the actor will indeed return as his Star Wars hero. Pascal's involvement in The Mandalorian has unfortunately been a hot topic ever since it was revealed that scheduling conflicts kept him from being in the suit for most of season 1, a conversation that has only continued with each new installment of the TV show. The movie has been no exception, given Pascal's increasingly busy schedule. This, however, can finally be put to rest.

As revealed in an article from The Walt Disney Company summarizing the announcements from their D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Entertainment Showcase, Pascal will indeed be starring once again as his titular hero, Din Djarin. The actor's role is the only one mentioned as a part of the cast in this write-up, as the only other names mentioned are those of the director and the movie's producers. Thankfully, this simple yet effective confirmation finally puts an end to speculation that ran on for much longer than it should have.

There Wasn't Any True Doubt That Pedro Pascal Would Return

No One Could Play This Star Wars Hero Better

This should have been an unnecessary thing for Disney and Star Wars to have to confirm, but thankfully, they did so anyway. It's true that Pascal is quite busy these days, having achieved a whole new level of fame after The Mandalorian's debut and thus a whole new collection of other roles, but it simply wouldn't make sense for him to walk away from this role for that reason aloneStar Wars is one of the biggest and most beloved franchises ever created; to be a part of its iconic big-screen legacy would be any actor's dream, Pascal included.

The behind-the-scenes arrangement Pascal has with other Din Djarin actors also makes this more than feasible for him, even with his other ongoing projects. Pascal has cited before that although this arrangement was originally created due to scheduling on the show's first season, it has since continued due to Pascal's physical inability to play the role for long periods of time. While Pascal would love to have a more active, physical involvement in the role like he did for season 2, he acknowledges that the "show needs to get shot," and so he does whatever else he can.

Pascal's devotion to The Mandalorian has never wavered, despite what various rumors in the past and his current arrangement with voice-over have tried to suggest. This is something even his fellow Din Djarin actors have made clear on his behalf, with one of them nearly losing their job when they publicly asserted Pascal's dedication to the character and the project. Unfortunately, speculation about his role in the movie still continued despite all this, but now fans can rest assured that The Mandalorian & Grogu will indeed see Pascal's return as the titular Mandalorian.
