Terrell Owens Assigns Blame on Steelers Star After Loss to Chiefs

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 29-10, on Christmas Day. It was a disappointing home game for the Steelers, who dropped to 10-6 but looked flat against the Chiefs.

Terrell Owens Blisters Cowboys' Jerry Jones With Blunt Criticism of Ownership

The only Pittsburgh touchdown came at the start of the second quarter via a one-yard Russell Wilson touchdown run.

After the game, Steelers veteran Cam Heyward had a brutally honest take, per Mark Kaboly: “When 10 guys do their job and one guy doesn’t, we are screwed."

While it is unclear who Heyward was talking about, former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens took to X on Wednesday and assigned blame to WR George Pickens.

"Same on offense as well when you got #14 not running his routes causing INTs," Owens said via a quote tweet of Heyward's comments.

Owens did not hold back one bit on Pickens, and some pointed out that it looked like Pickens did not run his route, causing the ball to go right into the hands of Chiefs safety Justin Reid.

Fans responded to Nate Burleson's comments, as he said "I'm not sure that was Russell Wilson's fault."

"Pickens didn’t run his route. So the safety didn’t have to worry about him," one fan said.

"Pickens quit on his route which would have drawn the safety," another wrote.

"GP didn’t run his route, saftey would’ve dropped over to Pickens. Pickens stopped playing allowing the safety to just sit back there  So no not completely his fault," another mentioned.

The interception took place at the end of the first quarter with the Steelers in scoring range and the Chiefs holding a 13-0 lead. He finished the game with three catches for 50 yards on seven targets, although this route on the Wilson INT is a questionable one.

Pickens has been in plenty of headlines lately as he has dealt with injuries and other issues, and now Owens is placing blame on the Steelers WR after the loss on Christmas Day.
