The Dallas Cowboys have made quite a few changes this offseason after only winning seven games last season.
They parted ways with former head coach Mike McCarthy and promoted Brian Schottenheimer to head coach. They also hired Klayton Adams as offensive coordinator and Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator.
They even made some moves during free agency, signing defensive tackle Solomon Thomas, running back Javonte Williams, running back Miles Sanders, and trading for Joe Milton III.
Williams and Sanders are the top two running backs on the depth chart right now, but that could change if Ashton Jeanty falls to No. 12 during the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday. Milton III will be the backup quarterback to Dak Prescott for the 2025 season.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore spent the 2023 season with the Cowboys before moving on to the Minnesota Vikings in 2024. He's still a free agent, but it remains to be seen how long it stays that way since he visited the Cowboys on Tuesday.
ESPN's Todd Archer has been told that it was not an official free-agent visit.
Even though it wasn't official, the Cowboys could still be looking at a reunion with Gilmore. He played in all 17 games for the Cowboys in 2023, finishing with 68 total tackles, a forced fumble, two interceptions, and 13 passes defended.
He played in 15 games during the 2024 season with the Vikings, compiling 56 tackles, an interception, and nine passes defended.
He still has some gas left in the tank and can be a good starting or depth option for the Cowboys in 2025. Time will tell if the Cowboys sign him to another contract in 2025 once draft week ends.
