What The Last Of Us Season 2 Character Posters Means For The Show
They Showcase New & Returning Characters
The Last of Us season 2's character posters, in addition to paying homage to the video game, highlight both the new and returning characters who will play the most important roles in the show's sophomore season. The focus will very much remain on Joel and Ellie, at least for the first few episodes, whose relationship has become strained after The Last of Us season 1 ending. Also residing in Jackson is the returning Tommy, Joel's younger brother, and his pregnant wife, Maria, who should see an increased role in season 2.
The most important new characters are Abby, a soldier seeking revenge for the death of a loved one, and Dina, Ellie's love interest who will be introduced in season 2, while Jesse is Dina's ex. Jeffrey Wright reprises his role from The Last of Us Part II as Isaac Dixon, the leader of a militia group. While these four new characters are all from the video game, Gail is an entirely new character created for the show who acts as Joel's therapist in Jackson.
