Leaked images from the set of The Last of Us give us a better look at Ellie and Dina - and fans aren't happy. In the images, we can see that the show has given Ellie her tattoo from the game, but has also made it way smaller, for some reason.
It's a small gripe, but it's still an odd decision, given that it's such an iconic part of Ellie's design in The Last of Us Part 2. Some also feel that the quality of the tattoo itself isn't great, fearing that the show isn't capturing the look from the game particularly well.
Photos From The Last Of Us Season 2 Set Reveal Dina And An Older Ellie
While the show's version of the tattoo appears to be just as long as it is in the games, it isn't as wide, not taking up most of Ellie's forearm as the original does. This is annoying fans the most, as it's unclear why this version of Ellie is less tatted than her game counterpart.
But this is far from the only change to Ellie's appearance that we can see in the pictures. The show is also giving Ellie longer hair, not her bob from the game.
Of course, not everyone is unhappy with the images. Some are just pleased to see that filming is well underway, looking forward to the next season whatever it brings. And as others have pointed out, the first season made plenty of departures from the source material, both in terms of aesthetics and story, and that went down incredibly well with fans and critics alike.
These images are also unofficial, so it will probably all look a whole lot better when we see Ellie and Dina the way that the director intends. As for when that will be, it was previously reported that filming would wrap in September, so we're still in for a bit of a wait.
