The Walking Dead Video Game Crossover Everyone's Been Waiting For Is Finally Happening

One of the most requested The Walking Dead crossovers has been with Dead by Daylight, and it is finally coming. Dead by Daylight has some of the biggest crossovers of any multiplayer game. From horror films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Child's Play to video games like Resident Evil and Silent HillDBD has become a celebration of all things horror. After years of fan requests, one of the biggest pieces of horror entertainment is coming to DBD this month.

Announced by the official Dead By Daylight X account, the next crossover for the game will be centered on The Walking Dead. More information will be revealed tomorrow. The development roadmap previously detailed by developer Behavior Interactive confirmed that a second licensed chapter would occur in July after the June Five Nights at Freddy's crossover.

Everything We Know About The Walking Dead x Dead By Daylight

It's Coming In July And There Are Two Survivors

Based on the aforementioned roadmap, the crossover with The Walking Dead is expected sometime this month, likely near the middle or end, like previous chapters. The roadmap also detailed that this July chapter would feature two survivors, no killer, and an update to the Rift. It appears that there won't be a new Walking Dead killer introduced, and the focus will be on the main characters from TWD instead. Recently, Springtrap from FNAF joined the killer roster with no new survivors, so this is pretty typical for DBD content strategy.

As far as who the two survivors are, we can only speculate right now. Daryl Dixon, portrayed by actor Norman Reedus, remains one of the most popular TWD characters, and is also the focus of the The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon tv series spin-off (which is still ongoing, unlike The One Who Lives), and with Norman Reedus no stranger to appearing in video games, it seems fairly likely that one of the survivors could be Daryl. The other survivor seems likely to be female, and it could be a toss-up between Maggie, Carol, and Michonne for that slot.

A Perfect Fit For Dead By Daylight

The Amount Of Cross-Over Content Seems Endless

DBD has relied on horror crossovers for a long time, and fans seem to not be able to get enough of it, making DBD the asymmetrical horror game. With original chapters being developed as well, DBD has become a horror slasher sandbox of sorts. There isn't another game in which players can play as Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 and chase down Laurie Strode from the Halloween films. Before FNAF and this upcoming TWD chapter, we also got the game's first anime crossover with Tokyo Ghoul, so the possibilities are virtually endless.

TWD has plenty of great characters, so there could be even more TWD chapters in the future if this one does well, similar to how Resident Evil has gotten two chapters (and they were two of the most well-received ones). We don't have long to wait to see who these two survivors are and if any additional character-swapping cosmetics are coming, as new information about the TWD Dead By Daylight crossover will be announced tomorrow.
