As most of you know, The Last Of Us Part 2 still hasn't gotten a Left Behind-like DLC. While you could argue the game stands on its own, there are tons of fans out there who want to see more of this world, and a DLC could deliver on that front. Don't worry, though; this concept won't continue the ending. Instead, it would put us in the shoes of another character entirely.
In 2014, Naughty Dog released The Last Of Us: Left Behind DLC, which provided two Lion King 1 1/2-esque diversions: one with Ellie and her friend Riley (which was touched on in the show), and another side story with Ellie and Joel. It was generally well-received (especially the Riley portion), as it allowed us to delve further into the mindset of Ellie, especially since the first game was so Joel-centric.
This is where the fan pitch comes in. A Jesse-focused DLC would be a smart direction, as it doesn't diminish the relationship between any existing characters. Instead, it would allow us to see how Jesse found Ellie and Dina in Seattle, toward the beginning of the game. A lot of the legwork is already done for the Seattle location, but we could also get more insight into Jesse's journey and mindset from start to finish.
We could get a chance to see more of the township of Jackson (where Ellie and Joel reside at the start of Part 2), and Jesse's relationship with its inhabitants. This is something that was expanded upon in the TV show, but Naughty Dog has a chance to do it better in their own medium.
Either way, The Last Of Us Part 2 will continue to live on in many forms. Whether it's forum discussions or the upcoming Season 3 of the TV show, this series won't die out. There are still many arguments to be had over story choices and DLC ideas to discuss.
