Joe guesses it is official now. Mike Evans is a bonafide NFL star.
Joe can just hear readers screaming. “What the hell is wrong with you, Joe! Mike Evans is a Hall of Fame receiver. Back off you negative SOB!”
Now, now, now. Joe fully understands Evans is bound for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. No question, he’s a football star. But to have a popular TV network allow you to program content for a full day of broadcasting? Only the stars of stars get to do that.
And so Evans has.
On Tuesday of next week, NFL Network will air content chosen by Evans (though Joe is dubious about two “choices.”)
On the afternoon of July 2, there will be two Colts games broadcast, none against the Bucs. Is Joe really to believe Evans, who has no connection to Indianapolis that Joe is aware of, wanted to watch two Colts games over any Bucs feature or game? However, Evans has said publicly that he was a huge Peyton Manning fan as as kid.
Two cool choices Evans made will be shown Tuesday night: The Bucs’ win over the Chiefs for the franchise’s second Super Bowl and “America’s Game” featuring Evans and chronicling the 2020 Super Bowl season.
