The Boston Bruins are looking for a Head Coach to help lead this team in the future, and now two very intriguing assistant coaches have emerged as candidates.

The Boston Bruins moved on from Head Coach Jim Montgomery earlier this season, and after the team missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2024/25, they're now on the hunt for a permanent replacement behind the bench.

Unsurprisingly, they've been linked to the likes of Mike Sullivan, who has since been hired by the New York Rangers and Rick Tocchet, but given their situation, it's more likely that they won't be landing a big name candidate this off-season.

Now, reporter Jimmy Murphy has revealed two intriguing names for the role, and based on the earlier reports of who they are targeting, it's no surprise to see that the latest update involves two current assistants.

According to Murphy, the Bruins are targeting Dallas Stars assistant Misha Donskov, a 48-year old Quebec native that was part of Team Canada's coaching staff at the recent Four Nations tournament, as well as Mitch Love, the former Head Coach of the AHL's Calgary Wranglers, who joined the Washington Capitals as an assistant after missing out on the Flames Head Coach role.

Both are considered to be Head Coaches of the future in the NHL, and while Bruins fans may want to see the team push for an established name to help the likes of David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy get back into contention, an up-and-coming coach is likely the play here.

Beyond these two, there are many candidates at the NHL, NCAA and AHL level that could be intriguing options for the Bruins, but with the team wanting to get settled before the draft and free agency, expect them to be aggressive in trying to find the right fit in the very near future.
