Video: Jets' Aaron Rodgers Jokes Breece Hall Needs to Cut Down Complaining in Huddle

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers joked that running back Breece Hall, who leads the team with 46 carries through three games, is complaining in the huddle for even more chances to get the ball.

Hall joined a reporters' huddle to ask Rodgers what he thought of his team's running backs during media availability on Wednesday.

"I feel like they've been playing really well," Rodgers answered. "You have done a nice job in protection. I'd like to cut down on some of the complaining in the huddle, though, if I could.

"You've got to remember. It's like the Aesop's fable. We need to be the tortoise, you know, it's slow and steady wins the race. Sometimes you get a little antsy out there, you want the ball, you're complaining, you're in my ear the whole time. You just got to understand it comes in the flow."

Hall responded by joking that Rodgers' comment should be "off the record."

Hall has so far followed his 994-yard sophomore season by racking up a team-high 170 rushing yards for two touchdowns.

The 23-year-old running back also ranks third behind wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard for the team lead in receiving yards with 120 on 16 catches, including one for a touchdown.

The Jets are off to a 2-1 season start, and will head into Sunday's home game against the Denver Broncos on a two-game winning streak, in large thanks to their running backs.

Of the nine touchdowns the Jets have scored through three games, more than half were scored by the team's top two backs, with Hall recording three and rookie Braelon Allen adding two of his own.

Between Hall and the 20-year-old Allen, the Jets are leaning on the youngest running back duo in the league. Hall's apparent eagerness for even more responsibility, combined with Allen's confidence in establishing himself as a big piece in his rookie year, is a hint as to why that is so far working for Rodgers and his team.
