J.J. McCarthy will begin his NFL career as the Minnesota Vikings new quarterback, and the franchise is looking to surround the signal-caller with more talent. After missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury, all eyes are on McCarthy as Sam Darnold signed with the Seattle Seahawks during NFL free agency.
The Vikings used the NFL draft to continue bolstering the roster, snagging Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman Donovan Jackson with the No. 24 overall pick. Minnesota ended the draft by selecting Pitt Panthers tight end Gavin Bartholomew in the sixth round with the No. 202 pick.
After the draft, the Vikings turned to a familiar program when it comes to producing NFL talent. The Vikings agreed to terms with Georgia Bulldogs tight end Ben Yurosek as an undrafted free agent, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Now it appears Bartholomew will have some competition for a roster spot at tight end.
