Caps 50th is underway plus Alex Ovechkin is already back in town as rookie camp and training camp inches closer
On Friday the Washington Capitals took over CityCenterDC's popular Palmer Alley to celebrate 50 seasons of Capitals hockey. The exhibit is already underway and it's a hockey wonderland with pucks, hockey sticks, and a Weagle that's suspended throughtout the alleyway. This is also historic as it's the first time a sports team has collaborated with CityCenterDC for a sports rleated installation.
Timothmy R. Lowery, the General Manager of CityCenterDC would say this per Odyssey Fields of dcnewsnow.com:
"This fall, we're thrilled to partner with the Capitals to commemorate their 50th anniversary, transforming this celebration into a citywide experience that can be enjoyed across several iconic location. This collaboration is particularly special as it's the first time featuring a PalmerAlley installation in honor of such an iconic team in Washington, D.C"

Martin Fehervary, Karl Alzner, and Peter Bondra were signing autographs and team owner Ted Leonsis took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially celebrate 50 seasons of Capitals hockey.
We also know that Charlie Lindgren and Logan Thompson will each don cool masks this upcoming season. Julia Stumbaugh mentioned Logan Thompson's bucket the other day on Bleacher Report saying:
"The Washington Capitals' Logan Thompson will don a mask featuring an eagle and the Capitol Building by FireDesigns"

These goalie maks she profiles are making their debuts in game action in less than a months time when the puck drops on the NHL season on Oct. 4. Not only is Capital One Arena all decked out for the 50th anniversary but so is MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
Also yesterday the Caps continued to stay active in the community as Tarik El-Bashir was there with Zach Leonsis, Alexa Landestoy and Wes Hall to help build a playground as part of the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation.
Zach was there along with his father Ted along with Alex Alexeyev, Alex Sarr, Nic Dowd, Bub Carrington, and Tristan Vukcevic.
