Washington Commanders' Jayden Daniels graded top rookie by ProFootballFocus

Daniels, coming in with a grade of 87.9, topped Las Vegas Raiders TE Brock Bowers (86.2), San Francisco 49ers G Dominick Puni (85.2), Los Angeles Rams DE Jared Verse (84.1) and New York Giants CB Andru Phillips (81.9). There were no other quarterbacks listed in the top 15.

PFF cites Daniels' consistency as a major reason for his high grade. Writes Gordon McGuinness, "Since Week 2, (Daniels) hasn’t recorded a single-game grade below 60.0. This is aided by his ability to avoid mistakes, with a turnover-worthy play on just 1.7 percent of his dropbacks."

In 13 games, Daniels has thrown for 2,819 yards and 15 touchdowns to six interceptions while rushing for an additional 590 yards and six touchdowns. He leads all rookie QBs in completion percentage (69.6) and total yards, and is tied with Bo Nix for the lead in total touchdowns.

Daniels has particularly been hot in recent weeks, accounting for seven total touchdowns in the Commanders' past two games. Now refreshed as Washington comes out of its bye week, he'll be looking to put an exclamation point on his rookie season.

Daniels and the Commanders take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at 1 P.M. to begin their stretch run.
