The Bachelor's Joey Graziadei recently won Dancing With The Stars season 33, and the experience may have changed him forever. With his fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, cheering him on in the studio audience, Joey and his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson, accepted the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. This wasn't the first time 29-year-old Joey appeared on a reality television show. He made his TV debut during Charity Lawson's season of The Bachelorette, then was chosen to be The Bachelor before his recent stint on Dancing With The Stars. It's probably only a matter of time before Joey appears on another show.
Joey met 26-year-old Kelsey when she stepped out of a limousine outside the iconic Bachelor mansion on the opening night of The Bachelor season 28. She was one of 32 impressive single women, but Joey was smitten with her right away. It wasn't surprising when Joey gave Kelsey his final rose. They were engaged and set out on a new life together. Since leaving the show, the couple has focused on growing their careers as public figures, which included Joey competing on DWTS. His recent win may have inflated his ego and changed him irrevocably.
Joey Won The Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy
Game Changer
After leaving The Bachelor season 28 as an engaged couple, Joey and Kelsey have had their share of ups and downs. At first, they faced financial challenges, struggling with transitioning back into daily life. Joey wasn't giving tennis lessons in Hawaii, and Kelsey quit her job. For a while, they were living off credit cards as they focused on building careers as public figures. As their social media lifestyle influencer careers took off, they put their financial difficulties behind them. Joey now has 976K Instagram and 397K TikTok followers, while Kelsey boasts 818K Instagram and 631K followers on TikTok.
When Joey was offered a spot on Dancing With The Stars season 33, it seemed like a great idea. Being on another television show would be a great way to grow his career as a public figure. Though DWTS doesn't offer a cash prize, it pays its celebrities a salary for being on the show. Joey took the job, and he and his fiancée, Kelsey, moved to Los Angeles, where the show films before a live studio audience. Kelsey was in the audience every night, cheering Joey on. Winning DWTS may inflate Joey's ego beyond what Kelsey can tolerate.
DWTS Could Have Put A Strain On Joey & Kelsey's Relationship
Kelsey Was Accused Of Jealousy
There was speculation about Kelsey struggling with jealousy while watching Joey dancing with another woman, but she quickly put those rumors to rest. It all started when Joey was interviewed on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast, where he confessed to asking DWTS producers to partner him with a professional dancer who was “in a successful and healthy relationship.” Joey was paired with Jenna, who was happily married. The strange request led some to question whether Joey was worried about Kelsey being jealous.
Kelsey quickly responded to rumors of her alleged jealousy.
Facing the rumors head-on, Kelsey posted an Instagram denying she was jealous of Joey dancing so passionately with another woman. In the clip, The Bachelor season 28 alum explained she's secure in their relationship. Though there's a chance Kelsey's overcompensating to cover her true feelings, she sounded very confident in the clip. Only time will tell if Joey's Dancing With The Stars season 33 triumph causes problems for the engaged couple.
Joey Convinced Kelsey To Stay In Los Angeles
Kelsey Was Hoping For New York
After leaving The Bachelor season 28, Joey and Kelsey lived in New Orleans for a short time before moving to Los Angeles to film Dancing With The Stars. They briefly talked about the possibility of moving to New York, where Kelsey had always dreamed of living. Joey dashed that dream during a recent appearance on the Lightweights with Joe Vulpis podcast on YouTube, where he revealed he and Kelsey had decided to stay in Los Angeles. It appears Joey got his way, and Kelsey's dream of living in the Big Apple is on the back burner.
Joey Will Likely Get More Offers
It's His Third Reality TV Show
Joey's no stranger to appearing on unscripted television shows, having already starred in three of them. Winning Dancing With The Stars season 33 upped his name's value and could lead to even more offers. In a clip posted to YouTube by Dancing With The Stars, Joey and Jenna danced their way into the finals. Though Kelsey seemed to enjoy rooting for Joey on the sidelines, she may resent living in his shadow. If Joey lets his success go to his head, Kelsey may not like having to live with his inflated ego.
In addition to being a long-running hit television series, Dancing With The Stars is also a live show that tours all over the country.
According to the DWTS tour dates website, Joey is scheduled to make guest appearances during the live shows. The Bachelor alum is slated to appear alongside Olympian Ilona Maher and actress Chandler Kinney. Some of the cities listed as tour dates include Boston, Detroit, Nashville, Atlantic City, and many more. With Joey traveling all over the country, it's unclear if Kelsey will be joining him on the road. If she stays behind in Los Angeles while Joey tours the country, Kelsey may regret the entire arrangement.
