Dolphins TE blasts Buffalo as 'worst place you could be,' making immediate enemies with Bills Mafia

Following four seasons with the Tennessee Titans to begin his career and fresh off a career year with the Atlanta Falcons, tight end Jonnu Smith has resumed his tour of the AFC East.

Dolphins TE blasts Buffalo as 'worst place you could be,' making immediate enemies with Bills Mafia

Smith — who spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the New England Patriots — signed a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins in March.

He took multiple brutal shots at the division-rival Buffalo Bills during a recent appearance on "The Dive Bar Podcast" that will surely upset Bills Mafia.

"That’s why the fans be hating so much because they want to be down here [in Miami]. You ever went to Buffalo? Oh, my gosh, man," Smith said. "I don’t know how those dudes do it. I don’t know how they did it. I don’t know how they did it, man. Going from anywhere in the country, man, and going to Buffalo. It got to be the worst place you could be."

The 28-year-old then took the criticism further, calling out the city for its apparent overrated wings.

"And the Buffalo wings ain’t even good," Smith said. "They ain’t even good. I’m at Buffalo. I’m at them. All type of shots at Buffalo."

Sports fans — especially football fans in Western New York — have long memories and are known to hold grudges, so Smith is probably in for a rude awakening when the Dolphins travel north for Week 9 on Nov. 3.

While the Florida International product posted career highs in targets (70), receptions (50) and receiving yards (582) during his lone season with the Falcons, he's had a limited impact against the Bills in the past.

In six regular season games against Buffalo, Smith has caught only nine passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns. He also had no receptions during a playoff game against the Bills as a member of the Patriots in 2021.
