Eagles-Commanders snap counts: Jalen Carter made his impact felt while playing the entire game - Bleeding Green Nation

OFFENSE

  • Jordan Mailata was able to play 100% of the snaps in his first game starting at left tackle after missing four weeks due to hamstring injury. Good to see.
  • Landon Dickerson got banged up on the Eagles’ first drive. He returned to the game on their second drive. Tyler Steen briefly filled in at left guard.
  • Saquon Barkley played his third-highest snap count percentage this season. He also logged his second-most touches. The Eagles weren’t going to be shy about using their top weapon in such an important game.
  • Grant Calcaterra played a decent amount as TE2. He didn’t see a target but he obviously made a HUGE play by recovering Dallas Goedert’s fumble.
  • Jahan Dotson saw two targets. The first was a designed touch against his former team on the first play from scrimmage. Dotson played his second-lowest snap count percentage this season.
  • Johnny Wilson didn’t see a target but he did come in for some red zone sequences.
  • Ainias Smith had a catch that was wiped out due to a holding penalty. Had Jalen Hurts got him the ball earlier, he would’ve had a chance to make a defender miss for a moderate gain.
  • Making his Eagles debut, C.J. Uzomah played just three offensive snaps after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad. He didn’t help out on special teams.
  • Reed Blankenship continues to be the fail-safe guy lined up deep behind the offense in victory formation. Blankenship’s up to 10 offensive snaps this season in that role.

DEFENSE

  • Jalen Carter didn’t miss a snap. Wow. His previous career-high was the 96% he played against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. Hard to blame the Eagles for not wanting to take him off the field in a key game. He was a monster out there.
  • Darius Slay was able to play 100% of the snaps after being in and out of the lineup due to injury in Week 10.
  • Nolan Smith played the second-most edge snaps.
  • Milton Williams suffered a foot injury in this game.
  • Bryce Huff played his third-lowest snap count percentage this season. Vic Fangio explained he’s limited right now due to the cast on his hand.

SPECIAL TEAMS

  • No fullback snaps for Ben VanSumeren this week.
  • Will Shipley had a solid kick return that went for 33 yards.
  • Jalyx Hunt didn’t play any defensive snaps this week after logging 25 against the Dallas Cowboys. Guess the coaching staff didn’t love what they saw from the rookie in Week 10.
  • Jake Elliott played the same amount of snaps as total points he missed scoring.

DID NOT PLAY

INACTIVE: Eli Ricks, Tristin McCollum, Nick Gates, Darian Kinnard, Trevon Keegan, Tanner McKee

ACTIVE: Kenny Pickett

  • Pickett was taking some warm up throws coming out of halftime, which raised the question if he might enter the game. But he didn’t since Hurts was cleared to return after being evaluated for a concussion.
