Eagles' starting CB hit with hand injury just days before Week 1 vs. Packers

The Philadelphia Eagles held their final practice in Philly on Tuesday and will board the plane to fly to São Paulo on Wednesday.

Eagles' starting CB hit with hand injury just days before Week 1 vs. Packers

They released their first injury report of the week and while everyone practiced, a few notable players were limited including starting cornerback Isaiah Rodgers and linebacker Devin White.

Below is the Eagles' estimated injury report from Thursday's walkthrough:

Eagles Week 1 Injury Report Observations

  • Rodgers is slated to start outside opposite Darius Slay following an exceptional offseason performance. His injury doesn't appear too serious since he still practiced some. But if he can't play on Friday, then the Eagles will turn to second-year CB Kelee Ringo. They also have rookie Quinyon Mitchell to lean on at outside corner and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is extremely confident in him.
  • White's ankle injury is also nothing to fret over just yet. If unavailable, that just means more reps for Nakobe Dean.
  • As for Brown and Dickerson, they were gifted a veteran rest day.
  • Some good news to come from the injury report is that tight end Dallas Goedert, rookie linebacker Jalyx Hunt, and backup right guard Tyler Steen seem to be back to full health after recently dealing with injuries during the preseason.
  • Additionally, rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson is out of concussion protocol.

Eagles Roster Moves

The Eagles announced some roster moves on Tuesday.

Philly signed familiar face offensive linemen Jack Driscoll and wide receiver Kyle Philips. In a corresponding move, they released tight end Kevin Foelsch and safety Caden Sterns.
