The Green Bay Packers 11- or 12-win season will be rewarded for individual pieces. On Thursday, the NFL released the players named for the 2025 Pro Bowl games, and the Packers will have three original selections on it.
They are safety Xavier McKinney, running back Josh Jacobs, and defensive end Rashan Gary.
Guard Elgton Jenkins will be a first alternate. Other alternates include return specialist Keisean Nixon, quarterback Jordan Love, defensive tackle Kenny Clark, tight end Tucker Kraft, center Josh Myers, and cornerback Jaire Alexander.
It's impressive for the Packers' front office, considering that two of the original moves were free agent additions of the past offseason, and the other received a big-time extension last year.
"Credit to those guys for being able to contribute like they have so quickly," Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said during the season. "For me, it's not only the production that they've put out there for us, but just also how they fit into the locker room as leaders. I think that they've really helped continue to strengthen our culture."
Josh Jacobs goes to his third Pro Bowl, as he had been selected in 2020 and 2022. McKinney and Nixon have been selected for the first time — Nixon's case is particularly puzzling, since he was a First-Team All-Pro in 2022 and 2023.
Rashan Gary is a Pro Bowler for the first time.
Ideally, the Packers will reach the Super Bowl and any of them will be there. If that doesn't happen, there's also a scenario where more alternate players will be invited.
