Ron Jaworski offers Quinyon Mitchell the compliment of a lifetime

One of my first memories of Ron Jaworski was seeing him supplanted as the Philadelphia Eagles starting QB by Randall Cunningham. I'd learn about the Polish Rifle leading Philly to the Super Bowl later and even see some of the clips as I got older.

Quinyon Mitchell, Philadelphia Eagles

His era was a little before my time, but I remember being young. I remember hearing about the Super Bowl XV loss and seeing that everyone was pretty bummed about it. I'd grow and learn what all the fuss was about, eventually endure my own heartbreak. Over time, Jaws would become and remain one of my favorite Eagles.

These days, I try to watch Jaws whenever I see him on television. I even watched him curse on live TV during a Monday Night Football game once. That didn't damper anything. That's my guy, and recently he offered a young Bird one hell of a compliment.

He's an Eagle through and through, one whose takes are always worth a listen whenever he speaks, even if you don't agree with him.

Ron Jaworski compares Quinyon Mitchell to Deion Sanders.

Something tells us fellow analysts (and the trolls) will have a lot to say about this next one. Our guy Jaws has taken elite compliments to the next level, comparing Eagles rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell to one of the best players to ever play the position, Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Deion Sanders.

Now, we know how critical some of you are about comments like these. Some say they draw unnecessary attention to the mentioned party, but we disagree.

Quinyon has been praised (and doubted) for the duration of his playing career. Heck, He probably woke up every morning dreaming he'd be as good as Q while playing in the streets or the backyard.

He's now living his dreams as a potential NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award winner. Recently, he has been elevating his stock vs. some of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Something tells us Quinyon will wind up making more tackles than Deion did though. Oh, and don't worry about the interceptions or the pick-sixes. Once he grabs that first one, the floodgates will open.

We get why Jaws would be excited and make comparisons. Seeing the 22nd-overll draft choice would no doubt fire us up too. Seeing him in the Number 27 made us think of the 'Iron Man', Malcolm Jenkins.

If the rook turns out to be half good as either of those guys, he's going to be fine. Frankly we can't wait to see what happens.
