The Pittsburgh Steelers have three of the most in-demand games of the NFL season, according to data from StubHub.
Pittsburgh’s season-opener against the Atlanta Falcons is the third-most in-demand game of the entire NFL season. The highest in-demand game is the Steelers’ home game against the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 6, while the second-highest is their road game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 13.
Like Pittsburgh, the Cowboys and Raiders are historic franchises and have fans all over the country. All three fanbases exploded during the 1970s when the NFL expanded its coverage on television. Along with the Miami Dolphins, the Steelers, Raiders, and Cowboys were the best teams in the 1970s, with Pittsburgh being the top of the heap.
According to FOX Business, the Cowboys and Raiders rank No. 1 and 2, respectively, as StubHub’s top in-demand teams for the season. Pittsburgh ranked third. That number is based on cumulative ticket sales on StubHub for the 2024 season, as of Monday.
According to Vivid Seats, the lowest-priced ticket for the Steelers-Cowboys game is $295, while the cheapest ticket for the Steelers-Raiders game is $366.
The Steelers-Raiders game in Las Vegas is the most expensive ticket in the NFL for the second consecutive year. The average ticket for the game is a whopping $601. Steelers Nation took over Vegas in last year’s game, which Pittsburgh won 23-18.
Most of the Raiders tickets bought on StubHub (89%) come from non-Nevada residents. That makes sense since the Raiders moved to Vegas in 2020, and a good portion of the fanbase resides in California since the franchise used to be located in Oakland and Los Angeles.
“Las Vegas has transformed into a major sports destination, after acquiring teams of its own and hosting major sporting events like the Super Bowl — we’re seeing a high number of visitors purchasing tickets to Raiders games,” Adam Budelli, a spokesperson for StubHub, said in a statement to FOX Business.
