The Last Of Us Meets The Division In New Open-World Survival Horror

I’m really hoping that The Last of Us Part III is in development and is the reason why Neil Druckmann has stepped away from HBO’s The Last of Us.

Until official confirmation drops though, I’ll have to find my undead fix elsewhere.

Thankfully, I’ve stumbled across Nakwon: Last Paradise, a multiplayer survival game that blends the gameplay loop of The Division with a world akin to that which you’ll find in Naughty Dog’s aforementioned franchise.

Developed by NEXON, Nakwon: Last Paradise remains without a release date but it’s already dropped a couple of gameplay trailers, so we’ve got some idea as to what we can expect.

“NAKWON is a multiplayer zombie survival game set in urban South Korea,” the synopsis begins.

“Venture into the city in the dead of night, and manage your shelter by day. Scavenge resources in a city crawling with the infected and hostile survivors. Survival is the only rule - trust no one, not even the living.”

Very much like in The Last of Us, anything you scavenge will need to be used as a weapon as enemies are everywhere.

And don’t forget your basic needs. Developers warn that “small wounds can be fatal, and stress will eventually break your mind if left unmanaged”.

Of course, you don’t need to run into every situation head first.

It is possible to hide if you wish to opt for a stealthier experience, and you shouldn't trust every player you encounter.

Some may want to form an alliance whilst others may be waiting for the perfect moment to betray you.

As for where you can expect to play Nakwon: Last Paradise, it’s currently only due to launch on PC via Steam but, as I mentioned, it currently lacks a release date.

If things go well upon release, I wouldn’t be surprised if NACON considered potential console ports.

After all, this is the type of game that’s heavily dependent on having an active playerbase.

For now though, if you’re interested, you’ll need to wishlist this one on Steam to stay up to date on its progress.
